remember that every inactive player planet(dropped during the noob arena cleanup) can be worth as much as 200 to 500 points each. he must have found a lot with his probes

you can theoritically get high points if you have a continous supply of inactive coords(again the probing) lol wish i had that much time/gold/RL money

He has not spent $50 every round, but he has spent something over $10 per round. I suspect that he is not as rich as you think, but he is willing to spend something (which helps support the game, so thanks for that).
