Yep. That might help to explain why the server was running significantly faster after the AiDG clan was deleted, with all its posts. It also explained why deleting AiDG posts brought the server down to its knees for nearly an hour. We used almost the full capacity of two 3 G Hz processors on the shared "virtual dedicated server" and slowed down all other applications on this 6 Gigabyte memory host computer with the MySQL querry demands created by one action from Abe. However, he definitely did do us all a favor by cleaning up a forum that was in some serious need of being dramatically reduced in size.

AIDG CONVERGENCE. WAS PART OF THE MUPPETSTORM.

As I remember it had about 140 pages of topics, and some topics were spam ones, with a lot of posts. So I guess AiDG forum was as big as all other forums together.

LOL - Yeah, I must admit that I was part of that Spam proliferation problem there.

This forum code also needs to be rewritten. Apparently, the forum code was not even written by Zygi, but was ported from someone else's application written previous to skylords, and there are some problems or inefficiencies in the basic design of the forums posting process.

As a result, the proliferation of posts is a significant factor affecting game speed.

To further help speed up the game, I will be deleting posts in the general forum and off topic forum which do not appear to be critical contributors to the overall history and culture of skylords. If there is a moderator of these forums that prefers to make their own judgements regarding what is or is not important for historical preservation, they might want to do some clean up before I get there so that I will look, see a modest number of posts (less than 30 pages total would be nice for each forum) and then go away without cleaning up anything more.
