I can accept that, but I also think that credits for winning round should not be so high as to be their own reward for winning. Even with credits at the level they are at now, many players a year ago complained that large credit awards won by LTC helped them to win the next round and the next round, and so on. I don't think the criticisms then were valid, as LTC won because they were good and because they were willing to use a lot of reserves that they had built up over time on attacking, and were effective in hitting profitable targets.

However, increasing credit awards dramatically would make it too easy for one or a few players to completely dominate the game via winning round after round by using credits from prior wins.

in that times credits had much bigger value, as there were no other abilities to get credits - and probing without upgrades was absolutely inefective. After we got market, credits became a common hing for everyone, so 1000 credits now is just a price of 2 full trained assaults.

Actually, at that time, I was buying resources for credits EVERY round from many players for 100 credits per 100k T. Limited amounts, but enough to get full probe upgrades and piracy detection at least. And, there were others buying credits as early as June 2005, although it was more difficult to do so then, as we did not yet have ability to accept credit card payments then.

Since credits actually bought LESS resources then than they do now, and give the same planet upgrades, I disagree that credits are less valuable now. Even in July and August 2005, before we had a market, you and a few other players were already trading T and E for credits in the market from a few players who were willing and able to purchase credits, at a rate of 50 credits per 100k T or E.

Since it now takes MORE resources to purchase the same amount of credits, with lower prices in the market today, that means that credits are more valuable or powerful now than they were one year ago in the game. Credits were more scarce then, but they are worth more in terms of buying power and number of trained assaults now than they were then.

I meant times when you was not able to buy credits at all. When you started selling credits, the value of these felt down a lot.

And in principle smaller prices for res doesn't mean that credits became more valuable - just we have much bigger average income of a player due to interest and buildings, so we just have devalvation of troops, energy and some other res, while if we compare prices for silicon which were year ago, they are still much bigger now.
I doubt anyone complained about 1000 credits can help someone to win when we we buying them for 2mln troops and someone was buying much more using cash.

There were no credits for round winners before I started selling credits, or if there was a gap, it was only for one round or so. As soon as I took over the game, about a year ago, I made two changes right away. One was ability to purchase credits was restored (it had been there previously in the game, but had been turned off by Zygi, so I restored it on a manual basis). The second was that credits for round winners started to be awarded once again, and the current point system for round winners was put into place. Thus, these credits now in existance for round winners have been the same basic amounts (with a few bonuses over time, but same structure in general) since last May. Credits have also been able to be purchased since last May or June.

There were credits for round winners before. They might have been discontinued, but when zyx led ltc, he had more than 25 planets mos rounds.

The reason credits are less valuable now is because everyone can get them, not just round winners, and so it is no longer such a great advantage to have 50 instead of 25 planets. when only one player has 50 planets that means that player has double the amount of resources per month of EVERY other player in the game.

i think it should be based on points say like evry 500k points is 1000 credits or somthing like that for round winner. Say more you fight the more cridets should be given
