Hmm... Well, I'd prefer to just stick with alphanumeric characters (read, standard ASCII variants ;) ) and the space for now... There are certain security reasons why :).

Edit: Hmm, though the Lithuanian players might prefer to have their names correct. Hmm. Tell you what: prove that utf-8 is secure against the injection attack I'm thinking of (without penetration testing of the server, thanks :P ), and provide me a function to test alphanumeric chars in multibyte strings for at least English and Lithuanian, and I'll do the legwork and install the thing :).

For security holes, I'll still offer a finders fee from my personal resources depending on the severity and speed of the report - I just don't want people to be doing any penetration testing, as that looks enough like hacking and/or scripting that'd I'd have a hard time banning the right people :D.
