I think the key thing to pick up from this so far is there is plenty of scope for a) sitting around doing nothing and b) making mistakes that aren't easily reversible with the resources available to a new player. Neither of these facts are designed to keep people around.

ok may b quite difficult not popular but maybe wen in newbie arena have more confirmation screens if the action will result in something being destroyed like red numbers on attack screen = give warning make them confirm they do want to do that etc

That'd help with the irreversibly of silly mistakes, SS has a good point.

What do you guys think about battle zone for new players?

Useless feature in noob arena,

i know in the past they said they didnt want to give more to noobs in the arena because when they dont play its just asking for multis or easy points in real arena, but maybe they couple implement something like this.

Give them more resources in their first system. and if they dont finish all the missions then just delete them and don't send them into the real arena.

Or another idea could potentially be, give them small things to do some basic missions.
and have another tier of missions and be like "congratulations on completing the first half of your basic training" and then reward them with a 50k assualt with 10k uranium and 40k troops, and then a bigger transport with piracy.

it would be an incentive to stick around a little longer, and you could make the basic missions finishable in 20 minutes. and thne have a second tier that might take an hour or 2 to complete or even let them have to build up some resources on their own


ps. personal update i have 9 planets all x9
15k assault. 8k troops
and all my nearbyes are too high to be captured with my assualt that has 5% experience... how does that work out? i have 9 planets. 7 of which i captured.
but probed a new system of x9s....

Do you have enough resources to further probe and maybe hit some high greens to get you jumpstarted??

after getting my 50k iron to make a new assualt and getting 30k troosp to capture a nearbye x20. i checked its nearbyes, and found some green planets which pushed me up 15 planets.

I can now enter the real arena with 15 planets a homeworld with 29k energy and 1k troops. and about 70k of each other resource.

if i were to enter the real arena now, and not use my time wisely in the arena i would be out of luck. I would have many nearbyes upon entering the real arena, all my planets are chained and i have no troops to capture any new nearbyes.

I like all of theKID's ideas stated. Don't drop newbies into the real arena if they haven't finished the missions.. then, just regulate the number of planets and greens at a certain ratio.

EL is a genius.

"Maybe if for new players when the first join, they are started at the mission guide.
And each time they log on.
They are put straight to the mission page instead of homepage.
Thats the defining factor of keeping new players i think right there.

Also i feel that instead of Missions.
It should be changed to
"Tutorial"
It gives off the wrong idea.
That Skylords has missions
this is not the case.
It should be called a tutorial because that is what it is."
