That is true Zero, increasing the amount of V on the dropped planets would make it more beneficial to be actively capturing and help active players advance quicker on taking out the inactive HWs. And thanks Iiri- personally, wouldn't mind a few thousand more at least, I'd rather have assaults regularly moving and being able to continue on to a nearby SP rather than solo system snipes.

There are 2,965 planets in the SkyLords Universe.

Of these, 124 are uncolonized, 1,592 are owned by players, and 1,249 are owned by SP Confederation

Hmm, we've still been dropping a new system (3 planets) every hour. You guys have an insatiable appetite for planets! ;). I've been considering over the years just what kind of backstory fits SkyLords - gameplay would seem to cast the players as insatiable planet devourers and SP Confederation as the resistance to the somewhat individual, but powerful organizations fighting for resources and control of the galaxy.

I'm concerned that upping the drop rate might flood us again if not careful - perhaps I should have a target number and do double/0 drops to move towards it each hour. What kind of galactic density provides the most fun?

Could also be that the planets are all just avoiding you MadMax, and cowering in fear in regions of the galaxy you've not yet spread your influence towards :D.

5 to 7K total planets would work for the amount of actives we have plus provide a nice cushion for returning players. As recently proven by Karil and CVS, a properly motivated player using the warp could easily chew up a couple thousand planets a month plus. But on the other hand we could go months without using the warp once. Is there a way to automate the target number….where the drops would end at target and restart if the number fell below 5K for example? Also, I think the backstory is spot on. :D

this could be solved by having a monthly poll, players vote on if they want more planets or less. increase or decrease the number of new system drops accordingly.
