With the resource recover personally I wouldn't attack an active player just in case he had a news watcher and notifier (I know Rukna had a few long nights because of me and his news watcher) and could therefore easily stop the attack merely by adding a little defense through the market and then gaining a decent amount of resources back. This would also be detrimental to those players such as Wien and Tom who like to slowly work on depleting an HW till it is at a reasonable level and then attacking it, or if I only wanted to hit part of the HW perhaps for enough points to move up a place at round end and then finish it off the next day.

In that case, activate it only for when a planet is captured, based on the resources that the planet has absorbed in attacks over the last X amount of days. Personally I think the "long draw" tactic should bring less of a reward as I believe it involves far less skill - it's easy to hit every now and then when no one is looking. So I'm thinking based on the attacks it has endured over the last 10 days. That still means that you have 10 days prior to final attack to get a HW down to a "reasonable" level and finish it off.

That said, I'm still inclined to go with the increased assault power just because it balances up nicely the forces required and the forces used.

We have wandered off topic here!
War is expensive to sustain.
Points are what we should be after, not home worlds that only collect resourses to be taken.
There are no points for defense except for what ever a turren blows up. After that is is all about points for the attack.
So many teachers and not enough students!
Yes to 300% experience.

I'm OK with 300% assaults -OR- recovery of some portion of resources (and to Dios' earlier point, I guess the value should be 35%, not 40%). I thought the recovery of resources would encourage people to take down inactive players' homeworlds and planets where the player does not store much there.

If everyone else really wants to see 300% assaults, I will bow to the majority. There needs to be a stated date that this will go into effect, since many HW attacks will wait until after that date.

Shield capped to shield building points (production points are suposed to produce resources, just in case the name isn't enough i decided to add this little hint)

This lowers shields to 10X tops.

Now to balance the cost.

Buildings add % increments to the already existing resources on the planet, not production points, with a no cap for max production. (keeping the 16.7M cap, it doesn't matter much)
Lose interest.

This makes hws proffitable for both attacking and defendingand doesn't have to complicate thing for players with assults having 300% exp while other ships have 200% because?

that would defeat the purpose of having the higher %?
leave the normal limit on defence resources.
i vote with arcanix, if you make the max for shield points 10, then increase the number the points are multiplied by for defense, the planet would still produce, while not Needing buildings, but still allow buildings, for those who want to produce more.
while also not sacrificing the defense limit that currently stands.
the defense formula -
Total defence formula: (Troops + Energy) * (1 + Shield * 0.1)
could be changed to fit the ten shield max limit without sacrificing max, or affecting the lower than max defenses.
(im not that good at math, but im sure it could be figured out by someone who is more mathmatically inclined here. think it over for me someone?)

by the way has anyone decided on whether the 300% limit is likely or not likely? (in terms of admins/coders)
